Building a stronger Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (VPD) surveillance workforce: Outcomes of the 2026 crash course

Overview

This report documents the design, delivery and key outcomes of the four-day Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (VPD) Surveillance Crash Course for national officers across programmes and units, held in Jakarta from 2 to 6 March 2026. It covers the course structure and modules, including practical group work, root-cause analysis exercises and results from tests and participant surveys. The report further identifies priority actions and recommended next steps to support post course follow up and to strengthen VPD surveillance capacity, serving as a blueprint for future week long workshops at national and subnational levels.
